「その他の言語」科目
名市大生には、是非、多文化共生社会の実現に積極的に関わっていく人たちになって欲しいと願っています。そのためには、英語以外のさまざまな言語についても関心をもち、知識、理解を深める機会が必要です。名市大では以下の10言語についての科目を開講し、異なる言語の学習を通して多様なものの見方を育む教育環境を提供します。
6つの国連公用語： フランス語、中国語、スペイン語、ロシア語、アラビア語、（英語）
パートナー機関や地域コミュニティー： ドイツ語、韓国語、日本手話、ポルトガル語、イタリア語

Course Categories and Credits / 科目区分と修得必要単位数
教養教育の語学科目には「英語」と「その他の言語」の2つの科目区分があります。それぞれの科目区分から科目を選択し、必要単位数分を履修します。科目区分ごとの 修得必要単位数は以下の通りです。

Course Registration / 履修登録について
「英語」科目の履修登録(抽選)は学期ごとに行います。
各学期に登録できる英語科目の単位の上限は4単位です。（前期に英語の単位が0もしくは、1単位しか取れなかった場合は、後期には修得必要単位数（6単位）に必要な単位数までの履修を認めます。国際文化学科の学生は、1年前期、1年後期、2年前期の3学期とも、上限は4単位とし、2年後期以降には、修得必要単位数（12単位）に必要な単位数までの履修を認めます。抽選に外れ、4単位分の履修ができなかった学生は、教務企画室窓口で履修登録が可能です。詳細は「教養教育履修要項」で確認して下さい。
色 で囲んだ科目を、前期、後期にそれぞれ１科目（２単位）ずつ履修します。

Other Language Courses
「その他の言語」科目
Here at Nagoya City University, we hope our students will become people who are actively involved in the realization of a multicultural society. In order to do so, it is necessary for them to have opportunities to deepen their interest, knowledge, and understanding of various languages other than English. Nagoya City University is committed to providing an educational environment that fosters diverse perspectives through the study of different languages. We offers courses in over 10 languages, opening the doors for students to connect with people locally and all over the world.
Six Offical U.N. languages: French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, (English)
Languages of our partner institutions and local communities: German, Korean, Japanese Sign Language, Portuguese, Italian

There are two categories of Liberal Arts language courses: English and Other Languages. Students select courses from each category and take the required number of credits. The number of credits required for each subject area is as follows.

Course Registration / 履修登録について
Registration (by lottery) for the "English" course is conducted every semester.
The maximum number of credits for English courses that can be registered each semester is 4 credits. (If a student earns zero or only one English credit in the first semester, he/she will be allowed to take up to the required number of English credits (6 credits) in the second semester. Students in the Department of Intercultural Studies are allowed to take up to 4 credits in the first semester of the first year, the second semester of the first year, and the first semester of the second year, and in the second semester of the second year and thereafter, they are allowed to take up to the required number of credits to meet the number of credits (12 credits). Students who were not selected in the lottery and could not take 4 credits can register at the Educational Affairs Planning Office. For details, please refer to the "Liberal Arts Course Guidelines.
