There are currently two different writing courses to choose from based on different topics and skills!
Creative Writing
Cam Villanueva(ビラヌエバ)
(前期) 火3、火 4、木3 /(後期) 火 4
Key Words: creative writing, literature, peer review, discussion
In this course, you will learn about three specific genres of creative writing: creative nonfiction, poetry, and fiction. You will have fun creating your own works of art and sharing your work with others. If you've never written anything creative before, don't worry! This is an enjoyable course that will expand your writing skills.
Travel Writing
Vivian Turk (テルク)
(前期) 水1
Key Words: Travel Writing, Observation, Storytelling, Description, Reflection
This course focuses on developing writing skills through travel writing. You will learn how to observe places carefully and turn experiences into clear and engaging stories. Travel can include trips, familiar places, or everyday
locations that have personal meaning.
Each week, you will learn one writing skill, such as observation, voice, structure, or description, and apply it to your own travel narrative. The course emphasises learning through practice rather than perfect writing.
In class, you will read short texts, examine examples of travel writing, and take part in writing activities and workshops. You will revise your writing based on feedback and gradually develop one complete travel narrative. By the end of the
course, you will be able to describe places and experiences more clearly and confidently in English and understand how writing improves through practice and reflection.
